Children are learning about their own chosen native New Zealand animal. Alex has designed a beautiful diagram to explain how a kiwi eats and what happens to its food in its digestive system.
My bird has a long beak to pick up the fish. His feet are good at going in the water so he can put his beak in the water. His feet are big. The gizzard is where it squashes its food up. Inside the gizzard it has stones so it can squash up the food. Then the food goes back out its mouth to feed its babies.
